1. How do I book a photoshoot with you?
To secure your professional photoshoot with me, contact me and we can decide on a day and time you’d like to book. After that I’ll be in touch with an email link to secure your session. You’ll need to pay the session fee in advance to secure your date.
2. What should we wear to our photoshoot?
Your photos will always be better if you’re wearing what you’re comfortable in! Comfort is first and foremost. After that, try to coordinate your outfits with contrasting colors rather than all matching unless it’s a classic white-and-denim look you’re after. If you still feel lost, Pinterest is a great resource for outfit inspiration.
If you tend to sweat a lot and you’re looking to secure a summer shoot, opt for darker colours and/or wear an undershirt. Always choose a breathable outfit – comfort is key and this is a case in point.
3. When is the best time of day for a shoot?
Shady, wooded spots like parks are best captured late in the morning or early in the afternoon. Beach photography always comes out best during sunrise or 1-2 hours prior to sunset.
4. I’m camera shy – can you help me?
Yes, I can! So many people feel camera shy or awkward at the start of a shoot, but rest assured I’ll break the ice and guide you on exactly what to do for magical images.
5. What is a professional photoshoot like?
My photoshoots are always a mix of classic portraiture and more quirky shots that capture your unique relationship with your partner or your family. These interactive shots are always the best when it comes to family photoshoots with young children! The more fun you’re having, the better the photographs you’ll get. For these, think playing, cuddling, hugging, tickling, and running. If things go south and one of the kids ends up crying, don’t stress – comforting a crying child can make for some of the most endearing family photos!
Having fun also goes for couples photography and engagement shoots. The more fun you have, the better. I try to break the ice so that you and your partner feel comfortable enough to be silly with each other. Have fun and be authentic!
6. What should we do to prepare?
If you’re opting for a beach photoshoot definitely bring a change of clothes and towels. Brace yourself for the wind and bring hair accessories to keep it out of your face. Remember to bring water or another drink to keep hydrated.
You don’t need to bring props but if you have anything you’d like to use bring that and let’s use it!
If you have a young family, make sure everyone is well-rested and well-fed to prevent any tiredness or hunger. Pack some snacks and drinks to keep everyone satisfied. If you have a child who can’t walk yet, bring a small blanket to keep them comfortable.
If you’re joining me for engagement photography or couples photography consider bringing a change of clothes so you can get two looks from one session.
7. Do you edit everything yourself?
Yes. I edit all the photos we take during your photoshoot for ideal balance, color, and brightness and I’ll remove blemishes from the skin .
8. When will we receive our photos?
I need 1-3 weeks to edit your images and then I’ll send you an email link to a private online gallery where you can then download your photos to keep forever.
